Always Remember, Never Forget
Always Remember, Never Forget
I will Always Remember my travels to Uganda to visit my oldest daughter when she was serving there as a missionary nurse. But, I will Never Forget the up close experience when we encountered majestic giraffes in the Kidepo Wildlife Reserve.
I will Always Remember the different vacations I have been on with my three best friends. But, I will Never Forget the nooks and crannies of the Biltmore House or the multiple shades of blue water that blended into the blue of the sky at Navarre Beach.
I will Always Remember the church where I learned so much about God. But I will Never Forget what led to my salvation experience.
The Always Remember moments are the things we recall when we reminisce, or when a conversation or similar experience draws those memories to the surface of our minds.
The Never Forget moments however, have more than likely impacted the core of who we are. They are frequently in our thoughts and when given the opportunity, we talk about them.
Proverbs 3:1 says, “My child, NEVER FORGET (emphasis mine) the things I have taught you. Store My commands in your heart.”
Never Forget moments come with intentional choices. I chose to go visit my daughter in Uganda. I chose to go on vacation with the girls. I CHOSE to go to church. The Never Forget moments that impacted my life in each of those instances would have never happened the way they did, had I not made intentional choices.
I pray that in the coming year, we will all make the intentional choice to “store up God’s word” in our hearts. And I pray that in choosing to do just that, that many Never Forget moments will mark very special places in our spiritual journeys.
